    Love What You Do

I've been doing a lot of work lately to prepare for my upcoming class (see info on Sizzling Summer below) and I've been noticing something. When your work is your passion...it's easy.

So often we struggle to accomplish what we "should" do or what we "need" to get done. That's never fun. It's an uphill climb through a battlefield. How many times have you wondered why you can't seem to finish a certain project? Why are some tasks such a struggle while others are a breeze?

In the same way that time flies when you're having fun, work is easy if you're doing what you love. Maybe once upon a time "working for the weekend" was an option; but in this era of 50+ hour work weeks, that's a lot of living to sacrifice for a paycheck.

If your job doesn't make you feel energized, inspired, and nourished, it might be time for a change. Sure, a 401K is hard to turn down, but there are ways to have stability, a stock portfolio AND happiness. Maybe you're held back by your limiting beliefs. Do you think it's impossible to be successful and fulfilled? It isn't. Do you think you can't be an artist and support yourself? You can. Do you think I'm idealistic? Maybe I am. But I'm also having the best time of my life supporting others in achieving their optimum health and happiness. I'm working longer hours than I ever have; but I'm loving it. That's the beauty of living your passion.

Suggested Exploration: Use the upcoming warm, languid weather to daydream. Loll on the grass and fatasize. If you could be anything you wanted in life, what would you be? What did you want to be as a kid? As a teenager? What are you doing now? Is it energizing? If it drains you, how can you make it exciting again? Do you need a complete change of path? Do you already know people who can help you in following your inspired dreams? Try using crayons and doodles to explore career alternatives. Write a song about your childhood goals. Finding your passion and following your heart is an exciting adventure!

I invite you to brainstorm your career aspirations like crazy. If you need some support, email me. I'd love to be a part of your passionate journey. You're worth a fulfilled life!

    Food Focus: Fruit
    Fruit Bowl

A healthy lifestyle is the key to longevity, optimum weight, abundant energy and balance. By using fruit to satisfy our taste for sweetness, we can reduce or even eliminate the use of processed and refined sweeteners. As the days grow longer and hotter, fruits can provide a cleansing, cooling effect and are great for anyone feeling over-stressed and over-heated from excessive mental strain or hot climates. Filled with fiber and liver stimulants, fruits assist our colon health by acting as natural, gentle laxatives.

Whenever possible, it's important to buy fresh, locally grown fruit as opposed to imported fruits shipped from far off places. This keeps you eating in season, so you feel more in harmony with your environment and climate. (For more about eating in tune with the seasons, take a look at the Sizzling Summer workshop mentioned later in this newsletter.)

Here are a few summer fruits and their various health benefits:
Apricots: Great for lung conditions and asthma. Sometimes used to help treat anemia due to their high copper and cobalt content.
Cherries: Slightly warming in nature and tend to increase overall body energy. Used as a remedy for arthritis and rheumatism. Rich in iron, which improves the blood.
Grapefruits: Used to treat poor digestion, increase appetite during pregnancy, alleviate intestinal gas and reduce mucus conditions of the lungs.
Papayas: Can tone the stomach, act as digestive aid, moisten the lungs and alleviate coughing. Contain carpaine, an anti-tumor compound.
Raspberries: Benefit the liver and kidneys, cleanse blood of toxins, regulate menstrual cycles, treat anemia and can promote labor at childbirth.
